Building Construction Codes

Building codes are published to meet the needs of local jurisdictions charged with enforcement of building standards for construction and are updated to reflect the latest standards.

On June 18, 2025, the Phoenix City Council approved the adoption of the 2024 Phoenix Building Construction Code (PBCC). The City of Phoenix will be transitioning to this updated code with an effective date of August 1, 2025. 2018 City of Phoenix Building Construction Codes

On June 6, 2018, the Phoenix City Council approved the adoption of the 2018 Phoenix Building Construction Code (PBCC).

ADA Codes are referenced in the 2018 International Building Code, as well as ICC A117.1-2009 and the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.

Please note these codes will be updated to the 2024 Phoenix Building Construction Code effective August 1, 2025. View amendments below to the 2018 City of Phoenix Building Construction Code, per Ordinance G-6463.

2024 City of Phoenix Building Construction Codes

On June 18, 2025, the Phoenix City Council approved the adoption of the 2024 Phoenix Building Construction Code (PBCC).

Amendments were approved in the following order: Code Committee(s), Development Advisory Board (DAB) Building Code Subcommittee, full Development Advisory Board (DAB), Transportation, Infrastructure and Planning Subcommittee, and the Formal City Council.

ADA Codes are the referenced ICC A117.1-2017 as scoped in the amended 2024 International Building Code as well as the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.
