Phoenix Police Seeks Public Input on New Interacting with Individuals Experiencing Homelessness Policy
The Phoenix Police Department is looking for feedback on a new “Interacting with Individuals Experiencing Homelessness” policy.

Once finalized, this policy will provide guidance for respectful, lawful interactions with individuals experiencing homelessness, covering:
- Interactions & enforcement
- Encampment reporting to PHX C.A.R.E.S.
- Personal property handling
The policy aims to uphold the dignity and rights of the community members and coordinate with the Office of Homeless Solutions and PHX C.A.R.E.S. for outreach, services and encampment reporting.
The public input and comment period will last 30 days, beginning on Thursday, Nov. 13, and ending on Saturday, Dec. 13. The public is invited and encouraged to review the policies and submit feedback using the “click here to provide feedback” button at the bottom of the draft policy.
All comments will be reviewed and taken into consideration before the policy is finalized.
