"Although I am sad to see him leave, I must congratulate City Manager Jeff Barton on his upcoming retirement after nearly three decades of service to the residents of Phoenix.
As City Manager, he has helped increase housing options and resources for people experiencing homelessness, find fiscally sound solutions to quality of life issues for Phoenicians, and bring more transparency and accountability throughout all departments.
His departure marks a significant transition for our City this Fall, and there’s no doubt he leaves behind big shoes to fill. Jeff’s leadership has set a high bar for those who follow, and I look forward to working with my fellow Councilmembers to hire the right person to fill those shoes.
I wish him nothing but the best for his next chapter in life."
