The City of Phoenix utilizes Generative AI (Gen AI) for the purposes of providing high quality and efficient services to the public. All approved uses of Gen AI has been through a rigorous technical review and committee approval process. The uses of Gen AI at the City have been posted here to maintain transparency and explainability.

Examples of potential applications of Gen AI in the context of City functions include but are not limited to resident engagement with City contact centers, tailoring public services to individual residents, process automation and efficiencies, and rapid response to cyber threats.

Code of Conduct for the Responsible Use of Generative AI at the City of Phoenix:

This Code of Conduct outlines the ethical principles for the responsible use of generative AI technology. As AI systems become an increasingly integral part of our daily operations, it is essential to ensure that they are used in a way that aligns with our organizational values, fosters trust, and minimizes risks to individuals and society.
