Looking for something cool to do on the longest day of sunlight? Step out of the heat and into the fun at Phoenix Public Library! On Saturday, June 21, we’ve got a packed lineup of events happening across the city to help you celebrate the Summer Solstice—and keep your Summer Reading Game strong. Whether you're soaking in musical vibes, getting creative, or witnessing a magical moment of architecture and sunlight, there's something happening near you.
Summer Solstice Celebration at Burton Barr Central Library
Celebrate the longest day of the year by witnessing the architectural wonder of Burton Barr Central Library, as the sun aligns perfectly with the building’s design. Enjoy live music starting at 11:30 a.m. and a special solstice presentation at 12:20 p.m. A limited number of beautifully crafted letterpress prints will be available in honor of Free People Read Freely®, an initiative of the American Library Association. Funding provided by the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library. Learn more.
Keep the celebration going in the afternoon with Make Music Phoenix, a fun-filled event in partnership with Rosie’s House as part of our Summer Reading Program: “Color Our World.”
