Celebrating the Annual 602 Day with Local Deals, Events, and Exclusive Merch
The City of Phoenix is thrilled to announce the return of 602 Day on Monday, June 2, 2025. This annual celebration honors the City’s iconic 602 area code and showcases the vibrant local culture, businesses, and community spirit that make Phoenix unique.
Following the overwhelming success of last year’s inaugural celebration, which drew thousands of residents and visitors across the City, the second annual 602 Day is back with more than 250 participating businesses, neighborhood celebrations, and cultural engagement opportunities. Local restaurants, boutiques, service providers, and venues are once again hosting celebrations and offering exclusive deals, from discounted meals to limited-edition merch. Whether you’re craving a $6.02 bite or a hand-crafted cocktail, looking for 6.02% off a fun experience, or shopping local —there’s a deal for everyone.
"602 Day is a celebration of everything Phoenix - our local businesses, diverse neighborhoods and the creative spirit that drives our City forward," Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego said. "It’s a chance for residents to show their hometown pride, discover new local experiences and sample some great cuisine. I’m proud to see our community come together for a day that’s uniquely and proudly Phoenix."
To help residents and visitors navigate the festivities, an interactive, mobile-friendly map listing all participating businesses and their exclusive 602 Day deals is now available at 602Day.com. The website also indicates when organizations are celebrating – some businesses have special deals all week or for multiple days while others are exclusive to Monday, June 2. This resource will make it easy to plan your day and support local establishments.
This year, residents can buy limited-edition 602 Day t-shirts designed by local lifestyle brand State Forty Eight, available starting May 27 on their website. The exclusive design highlights Phoenix pride that locals can wear year-round.
In addition to business promotions, the Mayor and City Council, as well as several City departments will participate in 602 Day:
- The Phoenix Fire Department will distribute 602 smoke detectors to promote fire safety.
- Senior centers will offer 602 Day themed activities, showcasing how Phoenix passion has no age limit!
- The Phoenix Public Library will feature a special 602 Day badge as part of the Summer Reading Program.
- The Street Transportation, Fire, and Parks and Recreation departments will also be hosting a bike rodeo offering free bike helmets and safety tips to the community.
Dozens of cultural institutions and sports partners are participating, including the Phoenix Zoo, Children’s Museum, Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury, Arizona Diamondbacks, Desert Botanical Garden, and the Phoenix Rising.
In 2024, more than 120 businesses took part, offering special $6.02-themed discounts and limited-time offers, while community organizations and City departments hosted pop-ups, giveaways, and educational activities. Thousands of people shared their local love using the hashtags #HowDoYou602 and #602DAY.
