City of Phoenix Launches Citywide Food Drive

Join the City of Phoenix in helping families and individuals facing increased food insecurity with the temporary suspension of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

The City of Phoenix is partnering with St. Mary’s Food Bank in launching a citywide Food Drive to ensure residents have access to nutritious meals.

A new webpage Phoenix.gov/hungerrelief details the campaign, including how to give monetary donations or food items.

“When crisis strikes, Phoenix comes together to help,” Mayor Kate Gallego said. “During this unprecedented emergency, I urge everyone who can help to step up. Donate food, send money, give your time to help your neighbors who have temporarily lost their lifeline."

Monetary donations are strongly encouraged because food banks can stretch the donation through bulk purchasing, tax exemptions, and dollar matches from the community. Just one dollar can provide an estimated five meals for a food bank.  Monetary donations can be made by going to St. Mary’s Food Bank’s donation page.

Food donations can be dropped off at these city facilities during business hours:
