Fire Department Announces Expansion of Access, New Partner for Teen Driver Safety Program

The Phoenix Fire Department and its partners in the Injury Prevention Alliance of Phoenix (IPAP) are proud to announce an expansion in access to their nationally recognized, free Teen Driver Safety Program. The program is now available to anyone interested in attending including those who are not residents of the City of Phoenix.  Classes are held in data driven locations across Phoenix where the highest incidents of teen-involved accidents occur.

The Teen Driver Safety Program  is free of charge and offers teens and their parents an opportunity to learn how to best keep themselves safe while driving in an engaging, interactive class.

IPAP and the Teen Driver Safety Program were recently recognized nationally for their leadership in teen driver safety and injury prevention as the recipient of the 2025 Nicholas Rosecrans Award.

The Nicholas Rosecrans Award, one of the nation’s highest honors for injury prevention and community health collaboration, recognizes programs that turn data and partnerships into lifesaving prevention strategies.

In addition to the national recognition, the Phoenix Fire Department and IPAP are announcing a new partnership with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). This collaboration will expand the program’s data and outreach capabilities, enhancing its ability to connect families with critical traffic safety resources.

ADOT joins a long list of partners with the Phoenix Fire Department and IPAP in the Teen Driver Safety Program including Banner Health, HonorHealth, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Dignity Health, Valleywise Health, the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and more.
