Due to forecasted storms, free sand for sandbags is now available at eight City of Phoenix parks.
Outstanding Phoenix Youth Leader of the Year
The Outstanding Phoenix Youth Leader of the Year program recognizes and honors exceptional achievements by young people, enhances the perception of youth, and raises community awareness of their positive contributions.
- Selection Process: Each year 16 high school students are chosen as council district winners. These outstanding students are recognized at an event and receive cash awards.
- Overall Winners: From the district winners, two overall winners are announced, each receiving an additional cash award.
- Recognition: Winners from each council district, as well as the citywide Outstanding Phoenix Youth Leader of the year, are honored at an event and featured in city publicity materials.
- Eligibility Requirements: To be considered, applicants must be currently high school students (grades 9 through 12) in Phoenix or live within the Phoenix city limits, they must also be U.S. citizens or provide proof of lawful presences. Finalist must be available for an in-person interview.
